FRP Reaction Vessels

FRP reaction vessels are tanks or reactors where chemical reactions (often with mixing) occur. They are typically cylindrical (vertical or horizontal) and made of corrosion-resistant FRP or lined FRP. Capacities can range from a few hundred liters to tens of thousands of liters. These vessels often integrate agitator mounts, coils, or baffles as needed for the process.

Key Features

  • Versatile Configurations: Horizontal cylindrical with saddles or vertical with top/bottom shapes as needed
  • Corrosion-Resistant MOC: Constructed in FRP (polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy, etc.) with optional thermoplastic or rubber linings
  • Integrated Agitator Support: Designed openings and supports for mounting FRP agitator shafts and blades
  • Pressure/Vacuum Rating: Can be built for atmospheric or modest pressure service

Benefits

  • Chemical Inertness: Ideal for mixing corrosive chemicals or catalysts without contamination
  • Custom Design: Tailored to reaction requirements (heating/cooling coils, jackets, spargers)
  • Lightweight Durability: Easier to install than glass-lined steel, with excellent impact resistance

Applications

  • Pharmaceutical & Specialty Chemicals: Batch reactors for synthesis under inert conditions
  • Chloro-Alkali & Metallurgical: Chlorination reactors, pickling and neutralizing tanks
  • Pulp & Paper: Digesters and bleaching reactors

Technical Specifications

  • Capacity: Ranges from 100 liters to over 100,000 liters (0.1–100 m³)
  • Construction: Made of FRP laminate or dual-layer materials (e.g., PP/FRP)
  • Standards: Complies with BS 4994 (standards for fiberglass vessels)
  • Orientation: Available in vertical or horizontal configurations; with conical, dished, or flat ends

Unique Selling Points

  • Full-Service Fabrication: In-house design and fabrication ensure perfect fit for any reaction duty
  • High-Capacity Builds: Experience in large reactors (e.g., up to 150 kL and beyond) for export projects
