Key Features
- Pre-defined Fiber Orientation: Kits include exactly-cut unidirectional or biaxial carbon fabrics aligned to the load paths.
- Resin Infusion Compatible: Fabrics are dry (vacuum-infusible), compatible with epoxy or polyester infusion processes.
- Multiple Ply Packages: Designed for stacking; often supplied in layers to be laid in sequence.
- Tear-resistant Edge/Coating: Some kits include veil layers or edge coatings for handling.
Benefits
- Consistent Quality: Eliminates variability of hand-cutting; each blade receives uniform reinforcement.
- Reduced Waste & Labor: Pre-cut mats fit exactly, minimizing material scrap and cutting time.
- Faster Layup: Ready-to-install bundles speed up mold filling and improve throughput.
Applications
- Use in high-strength areas of wind turbine blades (e.g. near hub joints, inside shear web assemblies, or reinforcing transition zones). Also used in rotor hubs and other composite components where carbon fiber reinforcement is needed.
Technical Specifications
- Each kit is tailored to a specific blade design. Typical carbon fiber type: high-modulus (XM42, etc.) or high-strength (Tenax) with weight 150–300 g/m². Kits can be supplied per layer (e.g. Layer 1, Layer 2…) and per length. We ensure traceability of fiber batch and resin compatibility.
Unique Selling Points (USPs)
- Voltex profile kits are an industry standard for quality blades. Our kits come pre-packaged by Sigmatex and include detailed layup instructions. By using Voltex kits, manufacturers achieve repeatable blade performance. We also offer technical support to integrate Voltex kits into existing production lines, ensuring seamless adoption.
