Round Tubes

FRP round tubes (cylindrical hollow sections) combine light weight with high axial strength. These tubular profiles are often pultruded with a surface veil, providing a smooth UV-resistant exterior. As Sino Composite notes, the FRP round tubes offer “high strength, light weight, and excellent corrosion resistance”.

Key Features

  • Uniform circular cross-section (ideal for bending and torsion)
  • Corrosion-proof (fully fiberglass construction)
  • Smooth finish (reduces fouling and is easy to clean)

Benefits

  • Reduces corrosion and maintenance in piping supports or guards
  • Non-conductive (excellent for ladder rails, handrails, or antenna masts)
  • Low water absorption (stays dry and does not freeze/brittle)

Applications

  • Handrail and ladder rails for industrial stairways and platforms
  • Protective railing around machinery (insulative, also eliminates sharp rust edges)
  • Electrical conduit support and antenna masts (safe around live voltage)
  • Aircraft hangars or stage truss (light yet stiff tubes)

Technical Specifications

  • Diameters commonly range from 20 mm to 200 mm OD, with custom lengths
  • Wall thicknesses from ~2.5 mm upward to adjust strength (see Sino data for examples)

Unique Selling Points (USPs)

  • Always-round shape (no weak axis, uniform strength)
  • Available fluted or textured (enhanced grip or aesthetics if needed)
  • Long-span stiffness (resists bending sag when used as continuous rails)
