Rectangular Tubes

Similar to square tubes but with different flange-to-flange dimensions, FRP rectangular tubes serve as versatile hollow sections. They share all the benefits of square tubes (corrosion-resistant, lightweight) but offer different aspect ratios for specific design needs (for example, taller in one axis for increased moment of inertia).

  • High bending strength along major axis (shape tailored to load orientation)
  • Inert under moisture and chemicals (fiberglass interior plus surface veil)
  • Electrically and thermally insulating (safe for outdoor use)

Benefits

  • Structural support in beams or frames where one dimension can be optimized for strength
  • Custom ducting or guides (maintains shape under load without warping)

Applications

  • Support struts for construction (e.g. posts for signage, shading)
  • Architectural columns and façade elements in corrosive climates (sea-side, chemical exposure)

Technical Specifications

  • Typical legs from 50–300 mm, wall thickness 3–8 mm
  • Often available in entire range of pultrusion shapes (see Plurimo/Exel for options)

Unique Selling Points (USPs)

  • Ideal for long-span bench walls or fencing (no rust issues at joints)
