H-Beams

FRP H-beams (essentially wide-flange beams with equal flanges on both sides of the web) are pultruded heavy beams used where very high strength is needed. They are similar to I-beams but with full flanges on both top and bottom, providing maximum bending resistance. These composite H-beams will never rust or corrode.

Key Features

  • Double flanges for high moment capacity (efficient load distribution)
  • High fatigue and impact resistance (fiberglass structure)
  • Low weight relative to wood or concrete of similar section

Benefits

  • Ideal for heavy-duty supports (e.g. large walkways, bridge girders) with zero maintenance concerns
  • Constant performance in marine/corrosive atmospheres (no protective coatings needed)

Applications

  • Heavily loaded spans or columns (e.g. utility bridges, high platforms)
  • Roof and gantry beam in corrosive process plants
  • Supporting tank racks or large electrical transformers (no grounding needed)

Technical Specifications

  • Section depths often range 150–300 mm, flanges up to 100 mm wide
  • Example: a 152×152×9.5 mm H-beam weighs ~8.10 kg/m

Unique Selling Points (USPs)

  • Provides maximum stiffness with composite benefits (light, durable)
  • Meets stringent structural standards (EN 13706 heavy series)
