FRP Spray Headers and Nozzles

FRP spray headers are large horizontal manifolds that deliver scrubbing slurry or solvent to nozzles mounted inside an absorber. They evenly distribute liquid across the tower via multiple outlet nozzles. FRP spray nozzles attach to these headers or pipes and atomize the slurry into fine droplets for maximum gas-liquid contact. Being made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (often with abrasion-resistant liners), these headers and nozzles resist the erosive impact of slurry and chemicals. Nozzles may be FRP plastic or metal-clad, depending on service.

Applications

These components are used inside FGD scrubbers and reaction towers in power plants. Spray headers deliver limestone or lime slurry to absorption zones; nozzles atomize the slurry for flue gas scrubbing. They are also used in spray chambers for wastewater treatment and cooling towers. FRP headers can be paired with FRP riser piping and pumps to form a complete FRP liquid distribution network.

  • Materials: FRP (vinyl ester or epoxy) with optional epoxy vinyl ester liner ≥150 mil.
  • Sizes: Custom lengths and pipe diameters (commonly 4″–24″) with flanged ends.
  • Nozzle Types: Choice of single-orifice, full-cone, hollow-cone or flat-fan nozzle profiles. Nozzle flow rates and angles to suit process.
