FRP Launders and Gutters

FRP launderers and gutters are channels that collect and direct process liquids (e.g. overflowing slurry or drainage) in an FGD plant. They serve as corrosion-resistant troughs for handling wet streams. Typically made from molded or assembled FRP panels, these gutters carry slurry from absorber bottoms to tanks or carry overflow from lime slakers. FRP’s anti-corrosive nature ensures these lines do not degrade under constant slurry immersion.

Key Features

  • Corrosion-Resistant FRP Troughs: Vinyl ester or epoxy laminate with leak-proof joints.
  • Custom Shapes: Straight, U-shaped or boxed designs to fit installation.
  • Non-Clogging: Sloped bottoms and smooth walls prevent solids buildup.
  • Structural Supports: FRP brackets or stands to maintain alignment and pitch.

Benefits

  • Durability: No rust or etching as with steel; no wood rot or concrete spalling in acidic slurry.
  • Easy Fabrication: FRP gutters can be made on-site for long continuous runs with joints.
  • Low Maintenance: Solid FRP construction avoids cracking and leaking.

Applications

Serve as overflow channels in absorber sumps, feed chimneys, or clarifiers. They also convey flocculant solutions or neutralized effluent in FGD water treatment areas. Wherever liquid must be collected and moved without corrosion or contamination, FRP launderers are used.

Technical Specifications

  • Flow Capacity: Designed per required cross-sectional area and slope.
  • Materials: FRP (vinyl ester for higher chemical resistance recommended).

Unique Selling Points

We supply FRP launders sized precisely for your slurry volumes. All seams are bonded and sealed with resin, eliminating leaks. Because they are FRP, these gutters require no painting or liner replacement over their service life.
