FRP Baffle Walls

FRP baffle walls are panel systems used inside tanks and scrubbers to direct flow and reduce sloshing. In FGD systems, they control liquid distribution in scrubbing towers or settling basins. Fiberglass Fabricators describes FRP baffles as an excellent alternative to wood or metal in corrosive environments. These baffle panels are made by vacuum infusion or pultrusion, resulting in strong, lightweight walls with precision perforations if needed.

Key Features

  • FRP Panel Construction: Laminated fiberglass panels with predetermined cutouts or louvers.
  • Perforation/Slots: Can include perforated patterns to fine-tune flow characteristics.
  • Low Profile: Thinner than wood panels, taking up less volume.
  • All-FRP Hardware: Sealed joints and 316SS fasteners for corrosion resistance.

Benefits

  • Easy Installation: Panels bolt into place with simple support structures.
  • Zero Maintenance: Unlike wood which rots, FRP does not degrade in FGD slurries.
  • Corrosion Resistance: Designed to survive the acid and slurry within the scrubber or clarifier.

Applications

Used in FGD absorbers to break up bulk flow and distribute slurry; in mist eliminator sections as support; and in sump or clarifier tanks to guide flow. Essentially, any water or slurry tank in an FGD plant that needs flow management can use FRP baffle walls.

Technical Specifications

  • Thickness: Typically 6mm–12mm depending on required strength.
  • Load Capacity: Engineered for hydrostatic head of the vessel.

Unique Selling Points

Our FRP baffle walls are designed per project needs. As noted by industry references, FRP baffles are “easy to install” with “superior corrosion resistance” versus alternatives. We provide baffles with custom perforations and support frames, ensuring consistent performance throughout the scrubber.
