Flooring Panels

Flooring panels form the walkable deck of train carriages. These typically consist of a stiff composite core (e.g. honeycomb or foam) with an anti-skid top surface (vinyl, rubber or carpet). The design ensures a strong, flat walking surface that meets fire and safety standards. Flooring also often includes an underlayer for sound insulation and may be electrically conductive/antistatic as required.

Key Features

  • Anti-Slip Surface: Durable flooring materials (vinyl, rubber mat) with texture for traction.
  • Composite Core: Honeycomb or foam core reduces weight while maintaining rigidity.
  • Waterproof Seams: Sealed joints prevent water ingress under panels.
  • Fire Rated: Flame-retardant composition complies with rail fire specs.

Benefits

  • Passenger Safety: Non-slip finish prevents falls even in wet conditions.
  • Noise Reduction: Underlayment dampens track and traction noise.
  • Durability: Tough wear layer stands up to constant foot traffic.
  • Easy Cleaning: Seamless surfaces can be mopped and disinfected quickly.

Applications

  • Main Aisles and Vestibules: All areas where passengers stand or walk.
  • Driver Cab Floors: Robust panels in control compartments.
  • Special Zones: Doorways and entryways with reinforced floor panels.
